Hutchinson Cosmosphere trip with the Boys

On our last weekend in Kansas City we took a quick overnight trip to the Cosmosphere in Hutchinson KS. The Cosmosphere - an internationally-recognized STEM education center and world-renowned, Smithsonian-affiliated museum. It was about a 3 hour drive and we stayed over night at the coolest
Cosmosphere

Airbnb house. The house was way off the beaten path out in the country. There is an old abandoned house adjacent to the property that looked haunted. Andy & Grant went out around midnight to explore it! Rich went out shortly after to scare them. And he did as they were walking back he was standing behind a tree and got them! The house we stayed in had 8 big bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. From the outside it didn't look very big but inside it was very spacious. Designed for a large group of hunters, it has dog kennels out back and a place for cleaning whatever was caught. There were huge fields all around and we all had a blast just roaming the properties.

The space center was a place Rich has been wanting to visit for 20 years. He is a huge space nut and heard good things about it. It turned out to be worth the effort. There was an SR-71 blackbird! There was a large area dedicated to the NASA space missions as well as the Russian space program. They had actual artifacts from both programs.

A small section was devoted to Germany's rocket development during world war II and some of the rocket scientists.

And there is a planetarium. A great educational trip!
